I’ve spent a lot of time wandering the South Pacific. The Polynesian culture and pace of life seems to agree with me. The difficulty for the artist in these islands is the temptation to create those paradise clichés, only a façade of the deeper reality. Then again, as a good friend once told me: “sometimes the façade can be quite interesting too.”
